Hopeful Hearts: Parents Supporting Parents
Our trained Peer Mentors have cared for a child through a cancer diagnosis.
Their experiences have provided them with the knowledge, perspective, and understanding to help you navigate yours.
What to Expect When You Reach Out
Every application — whether you’re seeking support or becoming a mentor — includes a required call with our team. It’s a chance for us to listen, understand your situation, and make sure we connect you with the right person.
For Parents Seeking Support
Are you navigating a cancer diagnosis with your child? Are you supporting a child with cancer?
Connect with a parent who has navigated this experience and is ready to support you.
Who Is This Program For:
Hopeful Hearts is open to any parent or guardian of a child currently in treatment or in recovery from pediatric cancer.
At this time, our Hopeful Hearts Program can support only these parents or guardians. If your child with advanced cancer is receiving hospice care, or you have lost your child to cancer, we grieve with you. Special support for parents, guardians, and caregivers just like you can be found through our friends at Zach’s Bridge.
Your peer mentor can help you:
- Feel less alone as you care for your child through cancer treatment and recovery
- Navigate side effects and emotions with greater confidence
- Learn best practices from a parent who has been through it
- Find the strength to advocate for your child at every stage
- Receive emotional support without burdening your own support network
Connect by phone, text, or video on a schedule that works for you.
