A través de experiencias compartidas, los mentores de CHN en Español brindan apoyo y consejos prácticos, aliviando el aislamiento que puedas sentir durante tu lucha contra el cáncer.

¿Qué es el programa de mentoría entre pares de CHN En Español y cómo funciona?
El programa de mentoría entre pares de CHN En Español conecta a personas hispanohablantes diagnosticadas con cáncer con mentores hispanohablantes que experimentaron desafíos similares durante su tratamiento, que han transcurrido al menos un año desde su finalización y que han completado nuestro programa de capacitación para mentores. Los mentores de CHN En Español brindan apoyo emocional, información y orientación cultural y lingüísticamente apropiados.
¿Cómo puedo contactar con un mentor que hable español?
Para acceder a un mentor de habla hispana, simplemente comuníquese con Cancer Hope Network y le asignaremos un mentor capacitado que pueda comunicarse en su idioma.
¿Cuánto dura el programa de mentoría?
La duración de la relación mentor/aprendiz puede variar según las necesidades del aprendiz y el acuerdo entre el mentor y el aprendiz. La relación de mentoría puede durar el tiempo que sea necesario y adaptarse a tu ritmo y necesidades.
¿Tiene algún coste el programa de mentoría?
No, el programa de mentoría de CHN En Español es totalmente gratuito para pacientes con cáncer y sus cuidadores. Nuestro objetivo es brindar apoyo sin ningún tipo de barrera económica.
¿Puedo convertirme en mentor?
¡Sí! Para ser voluntario/a mentor/a de CHN En Español, los sobrevivientes de cáncer hispanohablantes deben haber finalizado su tratamiento activo hace al menos un año o estar recibiendo terapia de mantenimiento y tener una condición médica estable. Los cuidadores deben haber dejado de cuidar activamente a un ser querido hace al menos un año. Si te interesa ayudar a otros, te invitamos a postularte para ser mentor/a. Los mentores reciben capacitación gratuita para garantizar que puedan brindar el mejor apoyo posible.

What is the CHN En Español Peer Mentorship program, and how does it work?
The CHN En Español Peer Mentorship program connects Spanish-speaking individuals diagnosed with cancer to Spanish-speaking mentors who experienced similar challenges during their cancer journey, are at least one-year post-treatment, and have completed our Peer Mentor training program. CHN En Español Peer Mentors provide culturally and linguistically appropriate emotional support, information, and guidance.
How can I access a mentor who speaks Spanish?
To access a Spanish-speaking mentor, simply reach out to Cancer Hope Network, and we will match you with a trained mentor who can communicate in your language.
How long does the mentorship program last?
The duration of the mentor/mentee relationship can vary based on the mentee’s needs and the agreement between the mentor and mentee. The mentorship relationship can last as long as necessary and can be tailored to your pace and requirements.
Is there any cost associated with the mentorship program?
No, the CHN En Español mentorship program is completely free for cancer patients and their caregivers. Our goal is to provide support without any financial barriers.
Can I become a mentor?
Yes! Spanish-speaking cancer survivors must be at least one year out of active treatment or currently receiving maintenance therapy with a stable medical condition and caregivers must be at least one year out of actively caring for a loved one to become a CHN En Español Peer Mentor volunteer. If you are interested in helping others, we hope you will apply to become a mentor. Mentors undergo free training to ensure they can provide the highest level of support.
