CHN Volunteer Expectations & Pledge

I believe that Cancer Hope Network (CHN), Inc. has a genuine need of my services as a volunteer worker. I will keep confidential all information which I may learn directly or indirectly concerning a patient or family member requesting support, staff, or another volunteer. In addition, I will:

  • be punctual and conscientious in the fulfillment of my duties;
  • report every client communication back to the Programs Team (via phone, text, log or email)
  • accept training and supervision graciously;
  • conduct myself with dignity, courtesy, and consideration towards others whenever representing CHN;
  • endeavor to make my work the highest quality, thus upholding the policy, procedure, and spirit of the CHN vision, mission, and values;
  • review and renew my Volunteer Pledge bi-annually;
  • offer CHN’s services whenever appropriate;
  • take problems, criticisms, or suggestions to the Executive Director or other appropriate staff members;
  • allow CHN to use pictures taken of me for future publications (Annual Report, newsletter, etc.);
  • read the Support Volunteer e-newsletter (HopeLink) and blog (eHope);
  • provide feedback via Volunteer Satisfaction Survey once annually
